Asymmetric’s Applied Development team specializes in transitioning technologies from concept to the end-user, using our broad engineering experience strengthened by feedback from our Field Services Team.


  • Product/hardware development

  • Ruggedization, miniaturization, packaging and concealment for extreme environments

  • Rapid prototyping, including 3D printing, machining and molding/casting

  • Environmental testing and evaluation

  • Design of embedded control systems (8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit microcontrollers), analog sensor interfaces, RF communication interfaces

  • Electronics schematic design and printed wiring board layout

  • Electronic product development including packaging, fabrication and manufacturing

  • Assembly, integration, testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies

  • Embedded software design and implementation using assembly language and C

  • Embedded Linux kernel configuration and compilation, file system development, device driver creation and initial board “bring up”

Clients range from national security organizations to commercial and industrial firms, and technologies focus on persistent surveillance sensor systems and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technologies. Asymmetric has developed successful products for Connected Vehicle/Infrastructure applications,  advanced optical sensors, and soldier-worn technologies.
